On November 22, 1st National Bank of Scotia in New York celebrated its 90th anniversary by kicking off a food drive to support local families in need.
The “Food for Thoughtfulness” food drive is a region-wide effort to encourage local residents to place non-perishable items in collection bins inside 1st National Bank’s 10 area branches. All donated items will be given to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York in Lantham, NY, which helps provide 450,000 meals each week to 85,000 children and 13,000 seniors living in 23 counties in northeastern New York state.
“Since our founding in 1923, 1stNational Bank of Scotia has been blessed to have the opportunity to serve the banking needs of thousands of regional families and businesses,” said 1st National Bank Chairman and CEO Louis Buhrmaster. “To mark our 90th year in business, it’s our turn to give back. We’re looking forward to helping hungry local families enjoy this special time of year with a table full of good food.”
