Today is Go Local Wednesday!
It’s hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner! If you have some last minute gifts to purchase, feel like dining out, or simply want to support local small businesses and restaurants over the holiday season, your timing couldn’t be better. Today, Dec. 17, is ICBA’s Go Local Wednesday, which encourages consumers to Go Local with their purchasing, dining and spending during the holiday season.
Throughout Go Local Wednesday, ICBA staff, community bankers nationwide and consumers will be encouraged to visit locally owned and operated businesses and restaurants and share their experience on social media using the hashtag #GoLocalHolidays.
How to share:
Twitter: Tweet @ICBA and use #GoLocalHolidays in your post
Facebook: Tag ICBA in your photo post and include #GoLocalHolidays in the caption
Instagram: Use #GoLocalHolidays in the caption
The top five photos for the 2014 Main Street Holidays contest have been announced! Visit ICBA’s Facebook page to see the top five and don’t forget to vote for your favorite. The photo with the most likes will win $300 for a local charity.
Photos can be shared and commented on, however, that does not go toward the final vote.
Voting officially closes at 9 a.m. (eastern) on Friday, December 19 and the winner will be announced Friday afternoon. Hurry and vote!
Think you’re Main Street has the most local holiday pride? Show us what you’ve got. Submit a photo of a scene that embodies your Main Street for the Holidays on ICBA’s Facebook page.
Submissions are being taken now! On Monday, Dec. 15 through 9 a.m. (eastern) on Friday, Dec. 19, the public will get to vote for their favorite photos. The photo with the most likes by the end of the voting period will win a $300 check to a local charity of their choosing.
