Today’s Member Spotlight focuses on Hopewell Valley Community Bank (HVCBank) in Pennington, N.J. In the following interview, Marianne Rosato-Romano explains what is unique about this local community bank.
What is unique about your community bank?
I feel truly blessed to be a part of a company whose leaders are highly professional, supportive and encouraging and one that values community and creativity while upholding the highest standards of business integrity.
How does your community bank uniquely serve your local community?
Many of us sit on boards or are actively involved in the communities that we live in. One of the boards that I sit on is Winter Festival, which is designed to get people out having fun, stimulating the economy and raising money for local nonprofits. HVCBank has sponsored two events and allowed me to help organize the festival to support our local community. Another one of the ways we are uniquely serving our community is our bimonthly networking events, which feature local artists, musicians and business owners in our branches.
What is the quirkiest, strangest or funniest thing you’ve seen at your community bank? Seeing bankers get unbanked at our holiday party photo booth.
What is your proudest moment from your time at your community bank?
My proudest moment was when we were shooting the video to tell HVCBank’s story. When our president and chairman were asked what they were most proud of, they both said it was the impact HVCBank has had in the community…on the businesses and individuals we have helped reach their dreamsKnowing the heart of our leadership makes me very proud to be a part of this financial organization.
What is your favorite project you’ve ever worked on at your community bank?
My favorite project is one that I am currently working on the importance of supporting local. I’m doing that via social media, by writing articles for local publications, and by speaking to local radio stations and networking events.
How do you celebrate Community Banking Month?
We are doing customer appreciation day by serving lunch at all our branches. We are also promoting community banking tips on Facebook and Twitter throughout April.
